Modric wins FIFA men's footballer of the year player, with Marta, Salah and Deschamps winning other awards


Luka Modric has won FIFA's men's footballer of the year award after helping Real Madrid to win the Champions League and Croatia to reach the World Cup final.
The Croatian has ended the duoploy of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who have shared the top player award over the past decade.

He is the first player other than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi to win the Fifa award since Kaká in 2007.


“It’s a great honour and a beautiful feeling to stand here with this amazing trophy,” Modric said.

Rivers State Attorney General, buried


It was gloomy today in the city of Port Harcourt, as former attorney general of Rivers State, Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma SAN KSC, was laid to rest.


The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, being accompanied by his Sokoto, Akwa Ibom, Anambra and Gombe counterparts, described Emmanuel Aguma as a reliable, brilliant and dedicated ally. Governor Wike stated that all protects pertaining to the judiciary, including the  already commisioned National industrial court, NBA house and the Judges quarters to be commissioned in December, were all birthed through the vision of the late Attorney general.

Oshiomhole has a psychological problem: Goodluck Jonathan reacts to vote-buying allegation



A former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, reacted to claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole that he started vote-buying in Nigeria. 

Speaking on Channels Television programme, Roadmap, Oshiomhole had alleged that the former President introduced electoral malpractice in Nigeria.

He was also fined after pleading guilty to a charge of drink-driving, British media reported on Wednesday.

Notorious One-hand Armed Robber Caught In Anambra State



A notorious armed robber with one hand and his accomplice have been apprehended by residents of Obeledu village in Anaocha local government Area of Anambra State. The suspects accused of terrorizing the community for a while now, were apprehended while attempting to steal a motorcycle from one man at gunpoint. They were both given the beating of their lives before they were handed over to Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS.
