Portuguese superstar captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, in what might be the most interesting opener of the Russia 2018 World cup, has made headlines, scoring a hatrick against Spain in their group B opener.
His first goal came after he was brought down in the 18 yard box for a penalty, which he converted.
David De Gea made a mess out of Ronaldo's not so great shot, spilling it into goal for his second.
His third goal, and arguably the best for the night came after he was brought down for a free kick and subsequently converting it.
Spain's Diego Costa made his mark by netting a brace for the Spanish side, with Nacho scoring a screamer.
The game ended 3:3
Ronaldo is now the oldest player to have scored a hatrick in the World cup, 33 years 130 days.
