Rabiu Kwankwaso, senator representing Kano central, and Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, were among 15 senators that have announced their defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.
The notice of defection was contained in a letter read by Senate President Bukola Saraki on the floor of the upper legislative chamber.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have become the majority with 64 members, APC with 44 and APGA with 1.
