Michy Batshuayi takes dig at Chelsea as he explains why he's thriving at Borussia Dortmund

Michy Batshuayi has opened up on why he's thriving at Borussia Dortmund following his January loan move to the Bundesliga club - and taken a dig at parent club Chelsea in the process.

The Belgium striker proved to be a crucial cog in a three-way transfer merry-go-round which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang move to Arsenal and Olivier Giroud head to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old was struggling for game time at Chelsea, and started just three Premier League games for the Blues this season.

Batshuayi has already played more minutes for Dortmund than his parent club this term - and has scored eight goals in 11 games.

When asked why he's thriving, Batshuayi told German publication HLN : "I hardly played at Chelsea, so it's nice to be important again now.

"Do you know what it is: I am just warmly welcomed at Dortmund - I immediately got love. Then you are automatically better."

But when asked if he wanted to make his move to Dortmund a permanent one, the forward remained tight-lipped.

"I do not want to talk about that," Batshuayi replied.

"And neither about Chelsea. Maybe later.
