Real Madrid ace Sergio Ramos left pitch during play against Eibar ‘to take a s**t’, claims Zinedine Zidane

NOBODY can say Zinedine Zidane ducked the issue when he was asked to explain a mysterious five-minute disappearance by skipper Sergio Ramos during Real Madrid's 2-1 win at Eibar today.

Los Blancos chief Zidane said: "He s**t himself a little bit. I think Sergio had to take a s**t. He went to the toilet and returned in a minute."

Third-placed Real were toiling at 1-1 and had already used all three substitutes against their mid-table hosts when Ramos went off in the 73rd minute.

And he was so long away that a Real official had to explain his absence.

Ramos then returned, though, and carried on as if there had been no problem.

Zinedine Zidane claims Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos left the pitch to go to the loo.

Cristiano Ronaldo went on to complete a match-winning double with a header but Real are still 12 points behind leaders Barcelona.

Ex-Wigan defender Ivan Ramis had nodded Eibar's temporary equaliser.

Gareth Bale, who was dropped for the 2-1 midweek win at Paris Saint-Germain, delivered a below-par 90 minutes on his recall.

And Real in general were subdued following that impressive 5-2 aggregate success over the big-spending French champions.

Nonetheless, Zidane singled out Ronaldo and first-goal provider Luka Modric, saying: "Cristiano is from another galaxy.

"Luka had a great game and we are happy. He is a fundamental player for us."

The French World Cup winner also defended his under-fire duo of Spain midfielder Isco and the Welsh raider.

Zidane said: "I thought Isco and Gareth did well, but like the other players they suffered because we had difficulties and we weren't good with the ball.

"But they fought and they ran a lot. They had character, like their team-mates."
